Verizon Gaming: Lup Crates
SOCIAL ACTIVATION
With 4.5M Twitch followers, DrLupo is one of the biggest gaming streamers. His loyal fanbase plus his energetic personality made him the perfect partner to help Verizon reach their gaming audience.
We took the classic in-game “Loot Crates” and turned them into “Lup Crates.” And, naturally, we filled them with fun prizes. But the highlight of the crate was the crate itself. Illustrator Zoë van Dijk created an original Lupo-inspired design that we seamlessly wrapped on the crate. We then created a social activation that teased the crates to gamers.
First we teased the crates to DrLupo’s fanbase.
Then we teased the prizes inside the Lup Crate with a video mimicking the in-game feeling of finding a loot crate.
On the day of the giveaway, DrLupo teased the crates in his own voice.
Lupo streamed Apex Legends for 2 hours, asking Lupo trivia after each round. Fans that answered correctly in chat were entered into the Lup Crate sweepstakes. At the end of the stream, Lupo told fans where they could find one last crate, Verizon’s Twitter. The stream got over 53K views.
